High Speed 2 (HS2) engineers have lifted the first 90t beams into place for the Thame Valley Viaduct, the first major rail viaduct in the UK to have been manufactured off-site.

The Rhineland branch of Germany’s motorway network operator Autobahn has awarded a €358M (£307M) contract to a consortium led by Eiffage’s German subsidiary SEH for the construction of a new bridge across the Rhine in Leverkusen, Germany.
