Learn: Free webinar on adoption of Sustainable Drainage Systems

Introduction of the Code of Adoption Sewerage in April last year put Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) into the mainstream and NCE has joined forces with Wavin to host a free webinar looking at what the changes mean for the water industry and developers.

There is just one week left to sign up to attend the event, which will take place at 11am on 24 February, where NCE editor Claire Smith will discuss the impact the code has had, as well as the challenges it presents with a panel of industry specialists.

The new code allows SuDS to be adopted as sewers for the first time, as well as setting out new mandatory approaches to all sewer adoption processes. Registering for the event will ensure you know all about the code and the benefits and challenges it brings whether you are adopting assets or building assets for adoption.

Guests Nick Ayling who is business services and wastewater operations manager with Thames Water, Mike Gale who is development engineering manager with Wessex Water and Wavin product manager Martin Lambley will discuss why the new code was needed and industry uptake of the new approach.

In the run up to the event, NCE will run an audience survey to gauge the level of knowledge about the new code and understand how widely it is being used in industry and the group will look at the results of this survey.

The discussions will conclude with a look at what still needs to be done to ensure SuDS are no longer viewed as an unusual solution and how the industry can gain the skills and knowledge to ensure the adoption process under the new code is seamless.

The panel discussion will be followed by a live Q&A session where delegates will be able to pose questions to the guests.

Following the webinar, NCE and Wavin will publish a White Paper setting out details of the new code in relation to SuDs that details learnings from the first 12 months in action and setting out key points the industry needs to address in order to ensure the Code of Adoption Sewerage achieves its aims.
